MEET THE VENIS COACHING TEAM

JOSH VENIS

Founder & Head Coach | IRONMAN Certified Coach

Josh started triathlon in 2016 with no endurance background, driven by competition and a desire to see what he could achieve. An IRONMAN Certified Coach since 2019, he transitioned from part-time to full-time coaching in October 2024. He works with athletes across sprint, Olympic, 70.3, and 140.6 IRONMAN events, from first-time racers to experienced competitors pursuing personal bests, with more than 100 coached IRONMAN and 70.3 finishes. His experience includes individualized training development, performance analysis, and helping athletes prepare to execute when it matters most.

Josh believes a training plan alone isn't the answer. Progress comes from understanding the athlete, identifying what will make the biggest difference, and consistently executing the right work. His approach combines purposeful training, honest communication, and race-specific strategy to help athletes build confidence, improve performance, and balance ambitious goals with the demands of work and family. Outside coaching, Josh is a dad of two daughters and an active triathlete who understands first-hand the discipline, patience, and commitment required to pursue meaningful goals.

Coaching focus: Individualized performance development, long-course triathlon, bike-to-run execution, performance analysis, race-day strategy.

TY LIAROMATIS

Associate Coach | USAT Level I Certified Coach

Ty brings a competitive mindset shaped by four years of collegiate baseball and a strong belief in the discipline and consistency required to reach ambitious goals. After college, he channeled that drive into running and eventually triathlon. In his first intentionally trained 10K, the 2025 Run Mag Mile 10K, Ty set a goal of 40 minutes and finished in 36:36. He has continued developing as a triathlete, including competing in Ironman 70.3 events.

Ty's coaching approach centers on patience, trusting the process, and showing up consistently rather than expecting every session to be perfect. He works to help athletes set ambitious goals, build confidence, and develop the habits needed for long-term progress. Through purposeful preparation and race strategy, he helps athletes learn to execute when it matters most. Outside of endurance sports, Ty is family-oriented and values the same commitment and personal growth that shape his approach to coaching.

Coaching focus: Competitive mindset, goal setting, consistency, and long-term athlete development.

JENNA GWINN

Associate Coach | USAT Level I Certified Coach

Jenna brings a strong competitive swimming background and a passion for helping athletes improve and discover their potential. A former NCAA Division I swimmer, she recorded a 1:00.73 in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing her among the top 100 NCAA Division I swimmers. After her collegiate career ended in 2024, she found a new competitive outlet in running and triathlon, competing in Ironman 70.3 events and a marathon.

Jenna brings a technical perspective to swimming and believes coaching starts with listening, understanding the athlete as a whole person, and providing the guidance to help them progress. She values consistency, determination, and building confidence through the process. Outside of training, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting the beach, and unwinding with a good book or music.

Coaching focus: Swim development, technical proficiency, confidence, and athlete-centered progress.
